At least this image asks you to buy something for someone else.

We’re bombarded with ads and commercials almost every second we’re awake. From pop up ads to billboards, we’re constantly being asked to buy something we usually don’t really need. Springfield’s growing, and it needs to embrace two important things, the arts and it’s youth, for it to continue to grow.

I will be displaying a few pieces at the Letter Shop during Art Walk tonight. I’m selling each piece for $15 or less (basically the cost of the materials). I’m just thankful for the people at Burro for letting me put stuff up. Plus, it’s not about the money. I want people to walk away with some cheap art, and hopefully engage in conversations that stem from the images in each piece. I work in the commercial field where I make things that tell people buy, buy, buy; these pieces let me balance things out a little.

Glenn Beck – Communism Ain’t So Bad

Leftists like to say that another world is possible, but I was never quite sure of that until I started reading tea party websites. There, a government of leftists is not only possible, it’s on the cusp of seizing permanent power, having broken American capitalism and replaced it with a socialist state. Down that rabbit hole, Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel are communists, and “The Left”–which encompasses everyone from the Democratic Leadership Council to Maoist sectarians–is a disciplined and near omnipotent army marching in lockstep to a decades-old master plan for domination called the “Cloward-Piven strategy” or, as of January 20, 2009, “Cloward-Piven government.”

Here’s the board I made for the Board IV show at Art Walk tonight. Make sure you come check it out. I’m selling the board for $15, but most importantly created it to shed more light on the construction of the enormous new courthouse downtown. I know the old courthouse is becoming overcrowded, and as our city slowly grows crime levels will rise. But why not use the money to invest in education?

If our children are being taught by motivated teachers, and we have programs like art, music, and recreation creating an inviting educational environment, the generations to come won’t have an overcrowded courthouse but a vibrant community.
